  • King Penguin Aptenodytes patagonicus. Subantarctic and Antarctic zone of Atlantic, Indian and Australasian sector of Southern Ocean. Two subspecies: 
    • A. p. patagonicus. Breeding South Georgia, Falklands.
    • A. p. halli. Breeding Marion. Pr. Edward, Crozet, Kerguelen, Heard and Maquarie Is.
  • Emperor Penguin Aptenodytes forsteri. Circumpolar in Antarctic zone

  • Chinstrap or Bearded Penguin Pygoscelis antarctica. Circumpolar Antarctic and Subantarctic zone.
  • Adelie Penguin Pygoscelis adeliae. Circumpolar Antarctic zone, breeds on many islands and coast of Antarctic mainland.
